Lions serving Anchorage

Benton Bay Lions is one of many Lions Clubs in Anchorage. Our mission is Alaska youth sports.

Where there's a need, there's a Lion. Lions Clubs International is the largest service club organization in the world. Our 1.4 million members perform valuable service in 210 countries and geographic areas around the globe.

Lions are friends, family and neighbors who share a core belief: community is what we make it.

Club Meetings

Club Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Currently every meeting is on Zoom.

Save Our Seawolves Spring Auction

Support Our Seawolves by participating in the Spring Auction

With the State of Alaska’s reduced funding to our University, we need a lot of community support to keep our Division 1 sports in Alaska, specifically Hockey, Gymnastics, and Skiing.  You can help today by visiting our Spring Auction and bidding on some items. There are over 200 items valued between $15 and $5,000 with a total value of close to $40,000. 
Be sure to thank the donors of the items for their contribution.

Seawolves Split the Pot Report

Benton Bay Lions held online Split the Pot raffles to raise funds to support UAA Seawolves Hockey, Skiing and Gymnastics.

  • Hockey Split the Pot raised $29,978. The lucky winner received a check for $14,989. After deducting $885.36 for expenses, Benton Bay issued a check to the UAA Foundation $13,347.48 for hockey.
  • Gymnastics Split the Pot raised $8,102. The lucky winner received a check for $4,051. After deducting $247.34 for expenses, Benton Bay issued a check to the UAA Foundation $3,325.20 for gymnastics.

Benton Bay is collecting donations for youth sports and UAA Seawolves Hockey, Skiing and Gymnastics.

Pitch Hit & Run - April 25, 2021.

Pitch Hit & Run™ is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball®. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills. Boys and girls are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through three levels of competition, including Team Championships and the Finals during the World Series™.

Golf Outing

The Benton Bay Golf Outing proceeds support our youth scholarship program. CoVid-19 Rules will be followed. It's a great opportunity to golf with friends while supporting Alaska youth. Find Registration and Payment Links Here.

Vision Screening

Lions Clubs play an important part in eye health promotion in their communities. Benton Bay Lions take a lead role in coordinating the vision screening program in the Anchorage area. Volunteers needed.

Diabetes Screening

Benton Bay Lions Club is partnering with UAA/Idaho State University School of Pharmacy to provide free blood sugar checks, Hemoglobin A1c checks and cholesterol levels as well and diabetes information and recommendations. Learn more about Diabetes Screening.

Benton Bay Athletic Lions Club Mission

The Anchorage Benton Bay Athletic Lions Club was formed with specific goals in mind and the membership was developed to meet those goals, which were and are:

  • To promote the value and importance of youth sports throughout our community.
  • To support various athletic activities such as UAA and high school sports.
  • To support and further the goals of Lionism in general so that our motto "We Serve" is fulfilled.
